Bret Bordeaux

Storyteller - Writer | Producer | Director

As a freelance writer, Bret has written multiple screenplays garnering laurel recognition and high placement in multiple screenplay competitions. He is actively producing, writing and directing “Confessions of a 1970”s Marijuana Smuggler”, a 3-part documentary detailing the true origin-story for his screenplay, “High Cargo”.

As a writer, Bret has worked with Producer Jonathan Krane (Basic) and Beau Rogers (Gods and Monsters), Producer Doug Claybourne (Fast and the Furious), with Director/Writer team Chuck Konzelman & Cary Solomon (Nefarious) , Director Michael Campus (Thomas Kinkade’s Christmas Cottage), Producer Michael Ewing (Anger Management) and John Frankenheimer (Manchurian Candidate).

He has also served as Associate Producer on The Insatiable, starring Sean Patrick Flannery and Michael Biehn, a SyFy Channel movie, and is a Writer/Co- Executive Producer for “The Pugilist” - a recent reality TV competition series.

Bret’s hands-on production experience includes camera and crew work for IATSE Local 122, AVent Techs, Hands-On and TBN. Bret also volunteers as a lead camera operator at The Rock Church in San Diego - a 3000 seat, 7 camera live-stream/Broadcast ministry, and has also performed volunteer production and voice-over work for Hope Productions 4 Kids.

From San Diego, CA, Bret began his undergraduate education studying telecommunications and film at San Diego State University. Transferring to U.S.C., he started out as comparative literature major but finished with a degree in Cinema/Television Production. Upon graduation, Bret started to hone his craft working as a writer’s assistant for writer/director/ Production Designer, Alfred Sole (Under Siege) as well as Ohlmeyer Communications, World Film Alliance, and Sandy Howard.
